Google recently launched a redesigned camera app for Android devices, and while it had a nice new look, it also lacked some of the features that were there on stock Android’s original camera app. One of those was the ability to take pictures while recording a video, but that is now making a return with the app’s first update that is now available on the Play Store. For some reason, taking a picture while recording a video doesn’t seem to work on my HTC One M8, but does do its job on the Nexus 7 (2013)....

Google is said to be gearing up for its own stand-alone VR headset, according to new reports. According to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, the house that built Android is now putting real work on building a stand-alone virtual reality (VR) headset. Google, for what it’s worth, already has some efforts in the VR space with its Google Cardboard headset, which uses a smartphone for the primary experience, but this is something much more powerful — and doesn’t need a smartphone or PC to work....

When Google announced that they’re going to fork WebKit and start writing their own rendering engine called Blink, one of the biggest unknowns was when the new code would land in release software. Now, thanks to a 30 minute video that I didn’t watch from start to finish, but The Next Web did, there’s official confirmation that Blink will come to Chrome version 28. Considering that Google releases a new version of Chrome every six weeks, and the current version number is 26, that means we’re roughly 10 weeks away from getting a taste of Blink....

A recent Doodle on Google’s homepage created by Indigenous artist Marlene Myles depicted the history of Stickball, a traditional sport created by Indigenous tribes. Several Native American tribes, including the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Seminole and Yuchi, were known to play the game. The game is played by using sticks to move and pass a ball towards the opposite team’s post. Points are scored by touching or hitting said post with the most important rule being to never touch the ball with your hands....

Hackers contacted Valartis Bank Liechtenstein customers and demanded 10% of their life savings to avoid any type of financial details leak to finance authorities and the Media. In its report, Intel explained that the error occurs in the Intel Management Engine (ME), where an attacker could execute a malicious code and thus access privileged information and, if desired, take control of the computer. The failure is present in computers manufactured, approximately, from 2015 onwards. Google has started rolling out a new update for its Google Search app on Android that gives the Google Now Launcher a partial Material Design makeover. On devices running Android 4.1 or higher, the Google Search bar background will change to white with a new animation when activated accompanying it. Other minor changes includes the background of the app drawer as well as its icon’s background being changed to white....
